Welcome to Uni-Jamii, a social networking platform created for college students in Tanzania. By accessing or using Uni-Jamii, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.


1. Eligibility

To use Uni-Jamii, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age

  • Be a student or recent graduate from a recognized college or university in Tanzania

  • Provide accurate and truthful registration information

  • Agree to comply with all applicable laws and these Terms

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate our eligibility requirements or misuse the platform.


2. User Accounts

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information

  • Keep your login credentials confidential

  • Take responsibility for all activity under your account

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings or by contacting us.


3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Uni-Jamii to:

  • Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users

  • Post content that is abusive, pornographic, hateful, discriminatory, or illegal

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

  • Upload malware, spam, or harmful code

  • Collect data from other users without their consent

  • Use automated tools (e.g., bots) to interact with the platform

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend users who violate these guidelines.


4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, messages, videos, etc.). However, by posting on Uni-Jamii, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the platform for operational and promotional purposes.

We are not responsible for content posted by users. You are solely responsible for your posts and interactions.


5. Community Guidelines

Uni-Jamii is a student-centered, respectful space. Users are expected to:

  • Engage respectfully in discussions

  • Avoid offensive or sensitive content

  • Report abuse or harmful behavior

  • Respect the privacy and boundaries of others

We may ban or remove users who fail to follow our community standards.


6. Intellectual Property

All platform content, branding, design, and software are the property of Uni-Jamii or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform without prior written permission.


7. Third-Party Links

Uni-Jamii may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party sites. Use them at your own risk.


8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account:

  • If you violate these Terms

  • If your activity poses a risk to others or the platform

  • Without notice, if legally required

You may also delete your account at any time.


9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Uni-Jamii is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantees that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. Use is at your own risk.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Uni-Jamii shall not be liable for any:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Loss of data, profits, or goodwill

  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access or use

Our total liability to you for all claims will not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) during the past 12 months.


11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notifications. Continued use of Uni-Jamii after changes means you accept the updated Terms.


12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts within Tanzania.
